Prosthetic Treatment
Crowns, bridges and implants may be hard to clean. PALIBRUSH® is a useful brush to maintain a stable treatment result.
Retroclined Teeth
A Class II division 2 malocclusion is characterised by upper front teeth that are retroclined (tilted toward the roof of the mouth), which can make cleaning difficult. PALIBRUSH® provides efficient access for plaque-removal in patients with retroclined teeth in both jaws.
As a board-certified specialist in periodontology, Dr. Mauland often faced a recurring challenge: Even the most motivated patients struggled to maintain perfect plaque control—especially on hard-to-reach palatal and lingual tooth surfaces. Despite access to a variety of toothbrushes and interdental cleaning tools, persistent plaque deposits continued to cause inflammation, compromising the long-term success of periodontal therapy.
This raised an important question: Are the tools we rely on for oral hygiene truly good enough—or can we do better?
From this question, the idea for PALIBRUSH® was born.
Partnering with Dr. Søvik, a Norwegian orthodontist, Dr. Mauland began designing and developing a solution that would make effective cleaning easier and more accessible. After extensive research and prototype testing, PALIBRUSH® emerged—a tool created not only to support periodontal health but also to address the unique challenges faced by patients undergoing orthodontic treatment and retention.
Fixed retainers and other orthodontic devices can make oral hygiene especially difficult in areas with limited visibility and access. PALIBRUSH® was designed to change that—helping patients maintain better control, better health, and better smiles.
